Public Involvement

Community Preferences for the future image of 2nd Street

Representatives from the Rochester Area Foundation will present information on the Second Street Planning Project recommendations to interested community groups starting in November. To inquire about a presentation to your group, email the Rochester Area Foundation or call 507-282-0203.

Representatives from the Rochester Area Foundation will be giving presentations on the history of the Second Street Project, present the draft recommendations and take comments at public presentations in October. Attend one of these sessions to learn more about the project.

Presentation to Rochester Planning and Zoning Commission: Wednesday, October 8, 7:00pm in the City Council/County Board Chambers.

Presentation to the Rochester City Council Committee of the Whole: Monday, October 13, 3:30pm in Room 104 of City Hall.

The active participation of property and business owners, neighbors and the general public is sincerely invited and crucial to the success of the project. Please consider attending one of the community workshops.

Project Summary
The Second Street Project is a community-led effort to envision and shape the future of one of our city's most beloved corridors in a way that reflects the views, values and needs of the community.

  Location of Study
The study area is comprised of the mixed-use corridor along 2nd Street SW from Highway 52 to 6th Ave SW. As part of the study, the adjacent neighborhood areas about a block and a half north and south of the 2nd Street corridor will be considered.
